About Us

What exactly is the Marquette Heights Men’s Club of Central Illinois?

The Marquette Heights Men's Club of Central Illinois (MHMCCI) is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization comprising individuals aged 18 and above, dedicated to enhancing the local community.

Comprised of residents from Marquette Heights and neighboring areas, the MHMCCI organizes the annual Spook Hollow event every October, a tradition dating back to 1979. Proceeds from this attraction are reinvested directly into community initiatives. Funds raised have facilitated the acquisition of essential equipment for local police, fire, and municipal departments. Additionally, the MHMCCI supports various local organizations, including scout groups, the city library, and the Enhance the Future Scholarship program.

Moreover, the MHMCCI actively participates in community events such as a Christmas toy drive in December and contributes to the fire department's Easter egg hunt each spring. Noteworthy improvements to Independence Park underscore the club's commitment to community development. Contributions from the Men's Club have enabled the installation of amenities like a lighted walking trail, a dining pavilion, handicapped-accessible bathrooms, and a gazebo.

For those interested in joining the MHMCCI, inquiries can be directed via email to marquetteheightsmensclub@yahoo.com. Additionally, the club can be contacted through our Facebook page, accessible via the link provided below.

Enhance the Future Scholarship

The Enhance the Future Scholarship is for Pekin High School seniors who graduate during the school year (mid-year or end-of-year) who attended North Pekin-Marquette Heights School District 102 for, at least, six (6) years and who will be attending an accredited college, university or trade school. Students who attended District 102 Schools who still live within the District 102 boundaries, but will be graduating from a different high school may still apply for consideration. If chosen, a scholarship of $500 will be awarded to recipients. Recipients are selected by a committee of District 102 current and/or retired staff members.

The presentation of this scholarship is made at the Georgetowne Middle School graduation at the end of the school year. This scholarship is an ongoing project originally established by Mr. David Perkins, a retired District 102 teacher with a 39-year teaching career in the district.

For individuals who would like to make a financial contribution to support this scholarship, any support is very much appreciated. Checks should be made to the Marquette Men’s Club. Please note “EFS” on the “For” line of the check. Checks should be mailed to:
